At its heart, The Camden Eggspress is about something simple: delivering the best eggs and bread to our neighbours – food that’s both delicious and responsibly produced.
Our eggs come from hens living as close to a natural life as possible. They’re pasture-raised, roaming open meadows with grass under their feet and fresh air on their feathers. It’s better for the hens, better for the planet, and, we believe, better on your taste buds.
Camden has also been home to my family for over 20 years. My kids go to local schools, and this is the community I want to give something back to. That’s why the Eggspress isn’t just about eggs and bread – it’s about building a local business that connects people with where their food comes from.
I also want to keep making films. I started out in viral online comedy, and my career in TV has often been about taking serious subjects and making them accessible through humour and storytelling. With the Camden Eggspress, I hope to do the same – raising awareness of pasture-raised hens in a way that feels engaging, entertaining, and easy to understand.
There’s inspiration too from abroad: Sweden has just gone fully cage-free, showing it’s possible to move away from caged systems altogether. I’d love to see more of that here in the UK – and if the Eggspress can play even a tiny part in that conversation, all the better.
