Our partners at Lannock Farm run a small flock using a truly pasture-raised system. Unfortunately, one of the realities of this approach is that hens roaming freely are more vulnerable to predators. And despite best efforts, foxes have recently reduced the size of the flock.
At the same time, demand has grown and is now outstripping supply. The good news is that new hens are on their way and should be settled within a few weeks. And the farm is constantly looking to improve the protective measures against foxes.
I’m deeply committed to a genuinely pasture-raised system – something that remains relatively uncommon in the UK, where most eggs are produced under standard free-range conditions. For that reason, I’ve decided to pause new orders rather than source eggs from alternative suppliers that don’t meet the same standards.
Existing subscriptions will continue as normal (as far as possible), and we expect to reopen for new orders in a few weeks.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
